Electrical hotspots in LV transformers often begin at joints, terminations, and connection points affected by heating, cooling, vibration, mechanical stress, loose connections, or increased resistance. These conditions can develop between inspection intervals and, if left undetected, may progress to failure.
This solution is specifically designed to provide continuous thermal monitoring protection for LV transformers via our Modbus transformer solution (MTS) which is provided in kit form per transformer (various kits are available depending on transformer size).
Sensor looms connects back to the MTS datacard (MTD), which collects and transmits the sensor temperature data, and activates alarms when a fault is detected. The MTD is housed in an external enclosure, along with the LEDs to provide local alarm status.
The low voltage transformer solution is suitable for both new build and retro-fit installation, and is also OEM vendor neutral.

The LV transformer (MTS) thermal condition monitoring solution can be connected in 2 ways.
Our CTM solution is designed as an OEM-neutral solution to LV transformer monitoring, enabling continuous visibility across critical transformer connection points regardless of manufacturer. It monitors areas where electrical hotspots can develop, including voltage input and output connections and coil tap change connections, helping teams identify rising temperature conditions before they escalate into outages or equipment damage.
By providing real-time thermal insight between inspection intervals, the solution reduces reliance on periodic inspection alone.
